Support Services:

UNLV is offering students affected by this disruption to their Cybersecurity program a variety of support services.

  • Career Services Support: Meet virtually with a UNLV career counselor to discuss cybersecurity career pathways, resume development, interview preparation, job-search strategies, and professional development opportunities within the field. To access these services, please email UNLV Career Services and Workforce Development at careerservices@unlv.edu and include "Cybersecurity" in the subject line.

Transition Supports:

  • A new UNLV-only Cybersecurity program: UNLV is actively developing its own transition plan to allow students to move forward in a newly developed cybersecurity program delivered and supported exclusively by UNLV. We hope to provide a clear pathway for students to continue progressing toward their cybersecurity educational and career goals.

  • Transition to a Cybersecurity program administered by QuickStart: In a recent communication with UNLV, QuickStart shared information about the Cybersecurity program that they are standing up to address the current situation. "Students who had active access remaining when the IronCircle Platform became unavailable may be eligible for placement into a comparable QuickStart educational offering. Students who wish to be considered should complete the transition interest process or contact: transition@quickstart.com. Each situation is reviewed individually."
    • For additional information on this program, please visit QuickStart’s IronCircle FAQs.

  • Consider pursuing an undergraduate Cybersecurity Degree: UNLV now has a four-year Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Cybersecurity degree program designed to train students to successfully enter the cybersecurity field. This interdisciplinary degree is offered jointly by the Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering and Lee Business School and is available in a fully online format. Apply for admission to UNLV to get started.
